Design Plan
The focus of this project will be to redesign the company’s face of social media, updating it to include all audiences, not just old souls and cat-lovers. It will include professional based bicycle clips/illustrations portrayed by photo archives and graphic media in a pop-art style with motion and type.
This will advertise the company with a fresher, more palatable aesthetic.

Audience
The targeted audience will be all ages, as bike usage applies to anyone with the ability to ride a bike.

Platform
The main platform being used will be Facebook, as the company already has a following and most people attracted by the bike shop will be the local community.

Social Media Project

Overview
Located in New Orleans, LA, Gerken’s Bike Shop offers both service and repair from flat tires to building wheels, tune-ups and straightening frames.
They sell parts and accessories including lights, baskets, racks and tires --
and of course, bikes.

Branding
The Logo is based on an older, early 1900s style that is convenient for the product, but this aesthetic appeals to an older fashioned crowd. It assumes whoever buys their product must be automatically appreciate antique items. This vision is a bit dated, as bikes are commonly used by people of all ages today, and are growing in popularity due to political and environmental circumstances.
Current Social Media
The Company’s current social media is basically non-existent with the exception of cat memes and one picture of hand-written signage. It is not current, as the t was 2018. However, the company is still running and function in everyday business, but it appears that their social media game has gone incognito.
